Microsoft was trying hard to make their Windows 7 phone popular in the market but they could get good results according their initial expectation. Therefore, today they announced that for 2012 we find a low-end smartphone WP7, with an estimated cost of about 100 USD (about 70 Euros). The price decrease will be determined by cost reductions in hardware, which is not unique to Windows Phone 7 as Androids are available very cheap for the same reason.

Maybe this handset will be with a slower processor, smaller screen resolution size, smaller cameras and no flash, plastic construction body and removal of all the extras, leaving only the basic smartphone functions.

With this we can foresee Microsoft intends to approach young audiences who want to have a Smartphone but can not afford to pay big money. With this new movement and the previous one (according to Nokia) Microsoft wants to open the entire market, especially low end.

Hopefully this will developed soon, as announced, as Android WP 7 and competing for low-end can have an even cheaper on the terminals, which mainly benefits provided to us users.

More and more interesting news coming about tablet. The the latest news is, Microsoft has introduced Windows 7 operating system version specially designed for Tablets and for some other special devices. This platform is known as Windows Embedded Compact 7 and that will be released in the mid of next year. You can download the demo preview from the Microsoft website.

The main features of this tablet operating system includes Internet explorer which supports Silverlight and Adobe Flash 10.1, HD video playback and MPEG4. It has support for MS Exchange 2010. It also includes Adobe PDF viewer and MS office 2010. 

Windows 7 Device Stage, it serves to transfer files between mobile phones and PCs. Multi-touch interface is also included in the specification of this operating system.

One of the first tablets which will have the Windows Embedded Compact 7 is the Asus Eee Pad EP121.

It is mentioned in the Microsoft's blog that they are in developing phase of MS office 2010, MS Visio 2010, MS project 2010, MS project and Sharepoint 2010 and that is almost reached to Release To Manufacturing (RTM). I means the package of MS office 2010 rushes off in the market.

According to Microsoft headquarter in Redmond that more that since Nov 2009 7.5 million users from different part of the world use 2010 beta version. And this number is 3 times more than MS office 2007 beta were downloaded.

MSDN and TechNet subscribers will have access to download the latest Office starting of 22 April. Volume Licensees with Software Assurance can download the Office 2010 products via the Volume Licensing Service Center from 27 April, while the subscribers without SA can be downloaded via VLSC starting May 1.

Microsoft Office 2010 is officially released on May 12 next and possibly to be available in the market in June.
