There can be many but I’m seeing E65 first Nokia phone which works well with Asterisk using SIP protocol. Here is the Nokia E65 SIP settings:

< ![endif]–>
SIP Config.
Profile Name: Asterisk
Service Profile: IETF
Default Access Point: Media Net (or your providers access point)
Public User Name: sip:XXX@asterisk-domain.com (XXX = the extension you are assigned on the trixbox)@(domain or public IP of the trixbox)
Use Compression: No
Registration: Always on
Use Security: No
PROXY SERVER
Proxy server address: sip:asterisk-host.com (domain or public IP of the asterisk box)
Realm: asterisk (make sure to use a lower-case a)
Username: XXX (your extension setup on the Asterisk)
Password: **** (your extension password)
Allow loose routing: Yes
Transport type: UDP
Port: 5060
Registrar server
Registrar serv. addr.: sip:trixdomain.com (domain or public IP of the trixbox)
Realm: None
User name: None
Password: None
Transport type: UDP
Port: 5060
These are for a Nokia E65 btw, but I expect they apply to any nokia phone with sip support.

For the E51 there is the same as for E61!
But you have to find a SIP-povider who will send you your own:
Proxy server address
Realm
Username
Password
OR you can install Fring and use the SIP client there.. But I like the inbuild.
WARNING for E51!
IF you change the firmware to ver 3 you can not call VIA 3G only Wifi… firmware 1-2 can call via 3G…

can somebody possibly post a “how to” for sending a control sms message to autoconfigure the E series handsets for SIP.
I have a beta sip server in place and will be happy to provide a free test service for those wishing to use their handsets to call other test server users with their Nokias, of course you can use softphone too!
any takers ?
