A lot of researches have been made and a system has been developed which can monitor the human heart through a mobile phone.
This system gives out an electrocardiogram on the screen of Android based cell phone. This outstanding innovation is using a signal transmitted from the sensor system of ECG (Electrocardiogram or Heart Monitor) by wireless to Android phones.
Imec, Holst Centre and TASS will be demonstrating the Body Area Network (BAN) is connected to a mobile phone that enables to monitor various health parameters such as cardiac performance (ECG), brain activity (EEG), muscle activity (EMG), and others.
Body Area Networks (BAN) is an important component mHealth, a network of miniature sensors, distant light, powerful, who can monitor point in a wireless sensor. These devices are designed in accordance with international health standards so that hospitals could be used by patients at home. The recorded health data can be sent to the hospital directly from the Android phone.
The interface is developed based on the Secure Digital Input Output (SDIO) in Android phone allows the integration of all the features available in Google's operating system (SMS, e-mail and data transmission via the Internet, GPS to track user keberadaam). The interface system developed is based on the Linux kernel, so that can be installed also in other Linux based devices such as PDAs or laptops.
