There are several telecom industries in Pakistan.

                                                                    

Ufone - the subordinate of PTCL was established to provide GSM 900 services, under the brand name of Ufone, from Islamabad on January 29, 2001. Ufone provides its network coverage to almost 100 key cities and important highways of Pakistan. It is considered to be cheapest network in the market which offers the lowest call rate of Rs 2.50/min. with the support of PTCL, Ufone provides best quality services to its consumers. Ufone GPRS,WEB 2 SMS chat, mobile banking, pay via SMS, internet, colored greetings and operator logos are some of the best features which keeps Ufone always ahead from other networks. Ufone claims that it has more than 3 million subscribers and is still growing day by day.

 

                                                                          

Mobilink - is the subsidiary of Orascom Telecom, which was established in 1994. It has such a giant networking that it claims that it has more than 20 million subscribers all over Pakistan. Mobilink is still most expensive network in Pakistan but it provides the best quality of services to its consumers to almost every city of Pakistan. Mobilink has recently offered GPRS services @Rs 500/month, which is most expensive as compared to other networks, but most of the business class still uses mobilink due to its best quality of services. Mobilink has is one of the best cellular company that has its best website, which make the users aware that there are professionals behind Mobilink.

 

                                                                           

Warid telecom - feels proud to be supported by Abu Dhabi Group, because it is one of the largest group in the Middle-East and the only largest group in foreign, which has invested a lot in business. Warid telecom is becoming hot favorite nowadays because it is offering the cheap quality call and SMS rates. Waridtel focuses more on its low prices as compared to its quality. No doubt it has not good coverage but it is good at all.

 

                                                                                

Telenor - started providing GSM services to its customers in April 2004. Telenor’s official opening was held in Islamabad having chief guests General Pervez Musharaf and CEO Telenor Jon Fredrik Baksaas. Telenor achieved its amazing target of providing its services to over 500 designations within a year. Telenor have good SMS rates but calls are somehow expensive. This network also has got some problems that it costs about Rs 5 @ per SMS and it also the voice during the call fluctuates but it will soon resolve its problems and become one of the great cellular companies in Pakistan. 

 

Zong is another emerging Mobile operator in Pakistan. We will discuss that later once we have enough information about this cellular network
