This is a good news for mobile phones. In January 2010 mobile users will be able to access on Internet Register Numbers Excluded (RNE), a system which simply registers the mobile numbers for free and block the receipt of text messages (SMS) or multimedia messages (MMS) with commercial or advertising purposes. “The operator in turn must validate the request and proceed to exclude the user from the databases sending such messages,” said an official of the Commission Regulatory Communications (CRC).

This register will be managed directly by the CRC. Cristian Lizcano, executive director of the organization said that this decision will continue to comply with Act 1341 of 2009, which is aimed at protecting the rights of users Information Technologies and Communications.
