A VoIP phone doesn't look very strange to a regular telephone user in a first glance, there is certain reasons behind that. A VoIP phone isn't meant to look cool, sleek or futuristic, the way a number of cell phones have come out with Trendy looks. VoIP telephony is designed to do the same job as thinks work in a regular phone: only with a chance of finding cheaper way to make calls, more better and more sufficient.
A phone that uses VoIP technology for making calls as opposed to traditional phone line is called Ethernet IP hard phone as well. An Ethernet Hard phone that looks like a traditional phone has not a regular phone jack but it has has an Ethernet port instead and tha jack known as RJ45. We use this in order to communicate with VoIP server, gateways or another VoIP phone.
Since such type of phone as its own VOIP server, it doesn't have to be hooked up directly to a personal computer in order to make or receive phone calls. As long as there is Internet, this phone can be used independently, this is the reason many business's people having good wireless Internet switched their offices phones to to VoIP Phones. This saves a lot of money and makes your work more efficient, as the phones are not constrained by a limited number of available lines.
Residential VOIP phones usually don’t suggest to a physical phone, but prefer to the software program. At a residence, VoIP software (Soft phone) can be downloaded and used to make VoIP calls. A regular phone will work just fine as long as you purchase a ATA (Analog Telephone Adaptor) for your regular phone to make it function with the computer system. Most VoIP phones are also referred to as IP phones, and they can replace your conventional phone if you do not want to purchase an adaptor.Offourse VoIP phone is little expensive. Another option for you is that a microphone attached to your computer which will allow you to talk to someone back and forth who also has a VOIP system (though note: you always need a good broadband Internet for VOIP to be a good idea).
Another option for you is a “Wi-Fi phone”. These phones (made specifically well known by Vonage) work in the same way you can get wireless Internet with a laptop. In the same way a laptop with wireless Internet needs to have an area with a wireless set up in order to functional, Wi-Fi phone works in particular “hot spots” where a network is set up in Internet hot spots that allow you to make VOIP calls during travel, instead of using a cellphone.
All these mentioned above are good options for VOIP phones. There are a number of other options, as well, and what you might want can depend a lot on whether you are an individual or a business, whether you want a phone for business or for simple (LD) long distance calls. All these options can help determine best VoIP phone for your needs and convenience. Always do your research before hand, and you won’t be disappointed.
