Voice Over IP

Protocol

Part One – How & Why?

Part Two – Why Linux

Part ONE

Voice Over IP is a new communication means that let you at almost null cost. How this is possible, what systems are used, what is the standard, all is available these days if you google.

The past – More than 30 years ago Internet didn’t exist. were only made by telephone at cost. Data exchange was expansive (for a ) and no one had been thinking to video interactions (there was only television that is not interactive, as known).

Yesterday – Few years ago we saw appearing some : PCs to large masses, new technologies to communicate like and finally the great net: Internet; people begun to communicate with new services like email, chat, etc. and business reborned with the web allowing people buy with a “click”.

Today – Today we can see a real revolution in communication world: everybody begins to use PCs and Internet for job and free time to communicate each other, to exchange data (like images, sounds, documents) and, sometimes, to talk each other using applications like or . Particularly starts to diffusing a common idea that could be the future and that can allow real-time vocal communication: VoIP.

The future – We cannot know what is the future, but we can try to image it with many computers, Internet almost everywhere at high speed and people talking (audio and video) in a real time fashion. We only need to know what will be the means to do this: UMTS, VoIP (with ) or other? Anyway we can notice that Internet has grown very much in the last years, it is free (at least as international means) and could be the right for future.

Few boring words about Linux

If you Google any periodical or bulletin board or any news source, you will not find a day when Linux doesn’t make any news. Making Linux play in Windows ground is a challenge not only for gurus but also Linux itself. One of these challenges is the huge installed base of Microsoft Windows systems. As a practical matter, Linux must coexist with these systems. Indeed, the challenge of coexisting with Windows can be viewed as an opportunity: Linux can be integrated into a Windows network, providing a highly-reliable and low-cost platform with a rigid security on which to run vital services for Windows systems, or even serving as a workstation on an otherwise Soft-dominated network.

I’ve written this book with a Windows administrator in mind, but with the assumption that you know the basics of Linux system administration. You might be uncertain of the details as to where Linux might fit into your network or how to get started configuring particular Linux Read the rest of this entry »

Outsourcing benefits

Join Hands with an Experienced Team
A software development company has already put together the team you need. Thus, you are not required to recruit new talents and invest on their training so that they can work for you.
Work with Technology Experts
Technology is moving at a very swift rate. Usually business oriented companies are less aware of the technological work model as compared to software companies/individuals. Software companies/developers are considered sharp in their domain. They have to excel in their relative software fields to skill themselves in order to service the ongoing advances in technology.
Controls Projects Cost
The project cost is agreed initially so there are no surprises as far as the project budget is concerned. The product specifications, conditions and deliverables are agreed in the project contract. Various studies indicate that outsourcing business, if done carefully and seriously, can reduce a project cost from 30% to 50%.
Increase Project Management Capabilities
An experienced software development company understands and utilizes project management principles. These are fully integrated into the process they use to deliver your project to you. Their skills can be added to your own to ensure the successful completion of your project.
Timely Project Implementation & Completion
A well-defined and planned project should be delivered with in the timeline set out in the project documentation provided by the software company/developer. It all depends upon the dedication and commitment of the software company/individual.
More Emphasis on In House Business
Usually out sourcing is considered as a side business. Having a team hired for a software project eliminates the need to pull in house staff when more urgent or daily issues arise. When the project is outsourced to an experienced and professional software developer/company, in house work can be better managed, and the completion date of your project will not be affected by day to day in house issues. Also, finding time for a new project can be difficult when current in-house resources are being utilized to their maximum capabilities.
